What am I thankful for?
My parents – For the most obvious reason! They gave me life! And always being there for me, being my number one fan and supporter. I always think about how strong they are for coming to America and building a great future for themselves to be able to raise and provide wonderful life for me and my brother.
My boyfriend – Another fan and supporter of mine. Even though he drives me crazy at times. I know I can always count on him to be my lover and friend who always gives me a shoulder to lean on, his ears to listen, and his mouth to give me words of encouragement.
My job – I was unemployed for three months going on interviews after interviews and was starting to feel overwhelmed and wanting to give up. I am a nanny, and one last family I interviewed with ( That I told myself if this isn’t the family, I need to search other options) gave me the opportunity to be apart of their family, and I couldn’t be more happier and grateful for them.
My Health – Overall, I’ve always had good health. But for the last 10 years or so, I had suffered a chronic condition in my back known as sciatica. To build a strong back I changed my health, stayed active, started yoga, kept a positive attitude and have been almost pain free for a few months now! I get a little pain here and there, but nothing like it was before. A few years ago, I couldn’t even get out of bed most days. But now I can run, walk, and lift weights.
Pineapples and Chai Tea – For always being so sweet and spicy
Challenges and mistakes –That has made me who I am today
Holidays – like Thanksgiving to have time off from work to spend time with close friends and family
My niece and nephew – being able to be apart of their life, being a role model, a tia, and watching them learn and grow.
Now I am off to Thanksgiving dinner with my family! Happy Turkey Day!
